If you don't have time to make it to Pompei, Ostia Antica offers a taste of an Ancient Roman town that's just as good if not better.
Catch the train from Rome Piramide tube station at around 9.40am, arrive in Ostia Antica tube station at about 10.20am, follow the street sign to Ostia Antica archeological site (5 minute walk), and meet with us

Tour Highlights:
A visit to the beautifully preserved archaeological remains of Ancient Ostia (the former harbor town of Ancient Rome), provides a window into the everyday life that went on in a town of the Roman Empire. Step into the remains of roman houses, taverns, market places, warehouses, thermal baths and communal toilets. Take a seat at the ancient roman theatre, and enjoy tragedies and comedies written by the greatest playwrights of ancient Greece and ancient Rome. All of this is Ostia Antica!
**The seaport of Ostium was founded in the 4th century BC. Excavations of Ostium started at the beginning of the 19th century. The excavations made apparent the preservation of the city, in some ways better preserved than Rome itself.
